18 Months
In the Waddlers room, children are just finding their feet. They move between low shelves and floor mats at their own speed, picking up what interests them. Teachers stay close, naming what a child sees and does. At eighteen months, a great deal of the day is about doing a thing again and again until it belongs to them.
2 Years
Two-year-olds are busy. They carry, stack, pour and fill, and they want to do it themselves. The room is arranged so they can reach what they need and put it back. Teachers keep small hands busy and young minds engaged through activities designed specifically for this age. Group time is short and gentle, because sitting still is still new.
2.5–3.5 Years
A creative curriculum carries this room through early literacy, language, math concepts, and social development. Guided potty training happens when a child is ready, not on a fixed date. Children here are learning to say what they need and to take turns, which takes practice. Teachers plan the day so there is room for both the lesson and the mess.
Montessori work fills this room, chosen by the child and guided by the teacher. Materials sit in order on open shelves, so a three-year-old can find a task alone and repeat it until it is mastered. Plans blend Montessori and Reggio ideas as the teachers are inspired. The pace here belongs to the child, and the adults protect it.
The Pre-K Montessori room is where concentration gets longer and work gets more exact. A four-year-old may return to the same material across several days, adding a step each time. By this year, many children are reading, writing and solving problems with quiet independence.
18 months to 3 years old
From eighteen months to three years, children are curious about the world around them. They explore their environment and learn to communicate their thoughts, and they begin to want independence while also understanding group play better. Teachers keep small hands busy with activities made for this age group. The emphasis is on the whole child, education and social skills together.
3-Year Old
A preschooler's world opens up as coordination improves and complex games begin. Children learn by doing, so the days are full of hands-on activity. Theme-based units gather language, math, science, creative arts, music, motor skills and social development into one topic. As children grow in skill, they grow in confidence too.
4 to 5 years old
Pre-K is a critical year, and every day a child is doing more. The work here is designed to challenge more, with an organized atmosphere that promotes independence. Teachers help children become their own thinkers while working well within a group through listening, sharing and cooperation. The goal is readiness for kindergarten, in skills and in confidence.
